Bunnies and Birds in Blue and Pink

Hello, my stitching friends! I hope March is treating you well? We've had some beautiful spring weather here and our daffodils just burst into bloom this week. Such a treat to see their golden yellow heads bobbing in the breeze--they sure do brighten up the landscape this time of year! With my grandson (and his mom and dad) coming for Easter, I've made sure to decorate my house for their visit and it sure is lovely to see all the little bunnies and birds popping up both in and outside my home. When I went to retrieve them from the dresser drawer where they're stored, I was a bit shocked to see just how many Easter/Spring smalls I've created through the years! I can't seem to stop making them either--in fact I'm working on six new ones that I hope to have finished by the end of March. For today, I'll just share some of my past finishes and how I've displayed them for the season.

I like to group my Easter decorations by color for some reason. You all know my favorite color is blue so it's no surprise that the majority of my Easter/Spring stitching features that color. This year, I used my two-tiered white metal basket (which I purchased at HomeGoods a few years ago) to anchor the display on the sideboard in my kitchen. I just love how it turned out!

Bunnies and birds in blue!

Here are some close-ups for you--if you'd like more information on each finish, just click on the name of it to be taken to my original post on that particular item...

In the top basket (left to right): "Spring Greetings Bouquet" by With Thy Needle and Thread, "Hello Spring" by Plum Street Samplers, a freebie called "Nest Under the Flowers" by Le Chalet des Perelles, and in the front is the Spring portion of "Four Seasons Band Sampler" from the March/April 2011 issue of Just Cross Stitch Magazine. That adorable gingham dressed bunny on the right was a gift from my sweet daughter-in-law.

Pictured in the above photo are (from left to right): a bunny from Prairie Schooler Book No. 163 "Signs of Spring," robin from the Spring 2020 issue of Punch Needle and Primitive Stitching Magazine by Subrosa Designs called "Bless Our Nest," "Paques" from Les Chalet des Perelles, a portion of "Welcome Spring" by With Thy Needle and Thread, and in front rests a freebie from The Snowflower Diaries called "Tulips with Bunny." The little bunny figurines in the front left are ones I've collected over the years and the blue and white rabbit plate is from TJ Maxx from a few years ago.

Featured here are the other half of "Welcome Spring" (on the left) and "Holiday Hoopla: Easter" both by With Thy Needle and Thread. Isn't that ceramic Peter Rabbit head darling? He belonged to my mother-in-law and I brought him home from Florida after my husband's family home in Naples  was flooded by Hurricane Ian in 2022.

The one piece of stitching featured here is by Tiny Modernist and is called "Easter Wreath." It is sitting on that darling rabbit chair that I found at a thrift shop in Florida for only $5.00--one of my favorite finds ever! You can read about the little chair in this post.

So, there you have it--my blue Easter display. Do you have a favorite? I think mine is the sweet "Welcome Spring" pillow shown below that I stitched last year. It simply makes me smile :)

"Welcome Spring"--my favorite spring finish from 2023

My pink Easter finishes are displayed in my grandmother's old dough bowl and sit in the center of our kitchen table. Again... if you would like more information on each finish, just click on the names in the caption below the photo.

In the back row on the left is a design by Patrick's Woods called "The Heart's Chase," in the back middle is a Prairie Schooler Bunny from "A Prairie Year (Book No. 13)," and that sweet pair on the right is from The Snowflower Diaries and is a freebie called "Spring Bunny Love." In front of the rabbit couple on the right is another Prairie Schooler design from the PS Mini Card Set F. The one on the left stitched on black is a freebie from the Kissy-Cross blog,  and the tiny pillow in the very front is by Just Nan from the "Hummingbead Heaven" chart.

And how about a favorite among the pink pieces? Mine is that sweet "Spring Bunny Love" couple that I stitched way back in 2013.

My favorite of the pink smalls: "Spring Bunny Love," a freebie from The Snowflower Diaries

Whew! Posts like this (where I link to past finishes) take a lot of time to put together! It's really hard to remember and track down the posts for some of the older pieces--and as my brain ages, it's not getting any easier! Anyway, I've had so many folks, both here and on Instagram, tell me how much they appreciate my efforts--and that it makes it worth all the effort. I've made many more Easter/Spring smalls in green and yellow hues, but I've run out of energy to post them today! However, if you scroll through my March and April posts from any given year, you're sure to find even more Easter and Spring stitching inspiration.

So, I'd love to hear about your plans for Easter... Will you be having visitors? What do you serve for Easter dinner? Do you have any special family traditions? I can hardly wait to spend Easter with 3 1/2 year old (Yes! How on earth did he get so old?!?) Mister B as he is so enthusiastic about all the traditions that accompany celebrations and holidays. Dyeing eggs, hunting for his Easter basket, making a bunny cake, etc. will all be part of our weekend with him. And while preparing for my visitors, I truly hope to squeeze in the finishing of the six small Easter finishes that I mentioned earlier in the post. We'll see...

In the meantime, I look forward to seeing your spring stitching and hearing about your plans for this very special Easter weekend coming up in just two weeks! Thank you all for stopping in today--I always love to read your comments and hear about what you're up to! And just a reminder...if you have a question for me, please make sure to include your email address so I can get back to you.  Bye for now...

Hello Carol, very nice deco and I understand that you smile looking at them. Well spring is also at the front door here in my part of the country and the daffodils in my garden are like sunspots on a grey day.
Preparations for Easter? Not much. I will have my children with their partners here and 3 dogs. How exciting. We will have green sauce with potatoes and eggs. It's a speciality from my hometown, Frankfurt. 7 different spices (e.c. parsley, chive, chervil, sorrel and some more) in sour cream. MmmH yummy. It is tradition in my family to have it on the thursday before Easter. And then, we will see.
I wish you a lot of fun with your grandson looking for the eastereggs.
Best wishes,
Gabi

Hello my sweet friend , just love your Ester display, makes me feel like Spring is here, I must dig out my Easter bits.
We will enjoy a relaxing Easter with some family members Popping in, my daughter always comes for dinner.
I would love some sunshine, so I can get outside , I love this time of the year in the garden sitting and relaxing watching the birds building their nests and going in and out of the nest boxes. We always stay at home with the roads being so busy with traffic, because people from all over the Uk come here to the coast and the country side .
It gets very busy.
So my Easter will be a relaxing one .
So happy for you seeing and spending time with your Little one and family , have fun hugs June,

An amazing collection of stitching Carol. It does take time to do linked posts doesn't it. I'll be putting my Easter decorations out soon but I think it will be a quiet Easter for us.

What a wonderful assortment of spring and Easter pieces, Carol! I might not say it enough, but I love and appreciate the links you provide. We really don't have any plans for Easter. We might go out for a meal, but who knows. Enjoy your weekend!

So glad you shared this post Carol! I love seeing your finishes and it reminded me that I have Welcome Spring buried in my "waiting to FFO" pile. Must get that finished!
Thanks for sharing and I hope you have a wonderful Spring and Easter.

Happy Easter! As usual, your finishes and displays are just lovely! My favorite is Hello Spring. I believe I have this one in my stash waiting for me to start it. I have made the sweet bunny couple from Snowflower Diaries as well, too cute to pass up! We don’t have any plans for Easter and haven’t discussed the menu yet, but more than likely Kielbasa and Pierogis from the Polish grocery will be served with some Ham and other fixings. Hoping we will get to see our Great Granddaughter who just turned 1 a few weeks back. Would be fun to see how “Eggscited” she will be with little surprises in a basket. Happy Easter to All! ‘Nette

Hi Carol!
What gorgeous Easter displays you have! I love them all but I think my two favourites are the same as yours! I remember how excited I was when I first saw the two pink bunnies you stitched from The Sunflower Diaires and I still love them all these years later. I've noticed that I have way more Halloween/Fall and Christmas than I do Easter/Spring stitching so I really must do something to remedy that. I do plan to go back and look at your past Easter posts. I did that for your Valentine and Christmas posts and it is so very inspirational. Thank you for the incredible amount of time and effort you put into your beautiful blog. I hope you have an amazing Easter with Mr. B and your family. We will have my husband's family here for Easter and are really looking forward to it.
Thanks again, Carol. Wishing you all the blessings of Easter and happy stitching.

Dear Carol. You have beautiful ornaments to suit every season! I must get some Easter decorations out today. We won’t be here for Easter because we’re going to Tekapo for a holiday. I loved it so much last year that I’m taking my family this time. It’s autumn here and it will be a lot cooler up in the high country. I need to find our jackets, hats and gloves.

Hi Carol, I haven't commented in awhile, no excuse but just busy. As always you are an inspiration. This spring, I am really enjoying the robins and daffodils, which you have included in your lovely collection. This year is a little different for me. The first day of Spring, is also my Son's birthday (thanks to leap year). His birthday is usually the last day of winter:) We are also expecting a new great grandson any day now:) Tuesday is also election day in Ohio, and I will be working at the polls. Busy day all around, and I know I won't get any stitching done that day. I will be busy up through Easter, I am taking a mystery road trip with my daughters and grand daughter (who doesn't even know I am visiting) I will share that later, because it is a surprise. You and yours have a very blessed Easter and Spring and keep on stitching...you are an inspiration indeed:)

Hello from Ohio! Although I don’t comment often, I could not pass up the chance to say how beautiful and detailed your Easter decorations are. I have a sister who is very enthusiastic about all holiday decorating but especially Easter. The year she was born Easter fell in April and my parents named her Robin. The inspiration for her name was from a story my mother read about how the robin got his red breast. According to the story, his breast was pierced from a thorn in Christ’s crown. I always thought that was a beautiful sentiment for her name. The funny thing is, her nickname is Bunny and most people don’t know her given name unless they were in school with her. She would love all your rabbits and I look forward to sharing your blog at Easter dinner. Enjoy your family and fellowship for the holiday. Blessings.

So many lovely Easter/spring stitches, Carol. I love to stitch bunnies also. This year I'm doing the new Maggie Mae bunny by Stacy Nash and Grandma's Candy Dish by Brenda Gervais. We will have our 3 kids and 8 grandchildren all together for Easter, so I am looking forward to that. Our traditional meal for Easter is ham, hot cross buns, and lemon meringue pie plus sides. My favorite decorations are the hand-painted (by my mom) real blown out eggs that I hang from plum branches cut in the wild. It's my Easter tree. I look forward to seeing your new stitched pieces. Wishing you many blessings with your family.

Hi Carol, I so appreciate seeing your stitching and their beautiful finishes. Thank you for taking the time to post them all. I love everything Brenda Gervais does and so have stitched many of them, too. I just finished stitching her newest Easter and spring pieces and hope to get them finished this week. We’ll see! We’ll be going out to eat but then coming back here to have an Easter egg hunt with my 2 grandsons who are both just 3 yrs. old. I agree, that time went fast! We’re having so much fun with them! I’m hoping for good weather as winter has returned to WI with cold temps and wind! Have a wonderful Easter with your family and enjoy every minute with Mr. B! Cherie in WI

I appreciate all your efforts to share your creations with us. You do such beautiful work. It is so inspiring. My daughter and I are going on a spring break trip with friends. We booked it so long ago that I didn't realized it began Easter weekend. I will miss being with family, but I'm looking forward to warmer temperatures. Have the best time with Mr. B! He's joy!

Hi Carol,

I just love this post, so sweet in every way. You take such wonderful pictures of your displays, and the way your blue stitching and pink stitched pieces are arranged is just lovely. So many special finishes and sweet spring and Easter treasures tucked among it all. You put so much into your posts and the way you linked to your previous finishes made it fun for me to click on them and read all about how you stitched them. Again, the 40 ct fabric...I'd need magnifiers for my magnification!!

Sounds like you will have a special Easter with your visit from your family and grandson. He is getting big and at a very curious and inquisitive stage, and I am sure he will love your Easter displays. Enjoy your time together.

Our Easter will be very different as we are traveling for a couple weeks. We will be with family on my husband's side including his mother, a brother and cousins from all over who now either live in Florida or who will be visiting. As a result, I didn't put out my Easter decorations this year, so the house seems a bit bare. We wrapped up some home projects and painting that we've been doing so I've spent the last few days, cleaning, cleaning and more cleaning...lots of dust from sanding. The house is clean, and a bit bare, but that is okay.

Thank you for a great post. Happy St. Patrick's day (today), Happy Spring, and Happy Easter too! Enjoy!

Kathy

Hello Carol,

The stitches are all so adorable. It does take a long time to find all those links but we greatly appreciate it. Have fun with that little boy at Easter.

Oh my. You asked for our favorite. So if I have five favorites, how does that work? Does favorite always have to be a single item? LOL!! Ain't happening.

I have no clue about Easter plans. Procrastinating has become an art. Yours will be very special, can't believe how quickly that baby became a little boy. Happy Easter to you and family.

Your Easter decorations are simply beautiful to look at, I would like to stand in front of them and look closely at every detail.
The designs are all so beautiful, I can't even say which one I like best.
I have already stitched Spring Bunny Love. A sweet motif.
I only have a few plans, we want to go to my father-in-law on Easter Sunday and celebrate my daughter's birthday with him. She was born on Easter Sunday and this is the second time since 2002 that her birthday has fallen on Easter Sunday.
Otherwise, I will take a lot of time for myself, go for walks and enjoy my free time.
I wish you a wonderful, unforgettable Easter with your little Mister B.
Hugs Martina

Oh I just love each and every photo. So so beautiful. They look perfect together. You always post things that help my life goal. I want to have little displays like yours someday. Just perfect!!

Easter was a holiday I never really cared for. I don't know why. Then life changed. Last year we went to a convention for entertainers/wrestling like WWF. My son LOVED it so much. It's hosted on Easter weekend. He begged to come back again. So it's now our tradition for Easter weekend. I'll tell you what it's wonderful to have a new tradition for our Easter. Then we normally do food with my dad's family later when it's warmer. Then we have turkey and ham. But who knows what will happen this year.

Hugs. Keep those beautiful finishes coming. Have a just wonderful Easter will your grandson and family.

Hello Carol, such gorgeous ornaments you put it all together. I don<t have a
favorite as i love all of them. The Spring Bunny has been on my list for a long time time now, hope to stitch it for next Spring.
No plans for me this coming Easter, as i have to start at my new workplace. Hopefully,
weather gets better otherwise not much tourist coming in on the island.
Have a Happy Easter with your family.

Beautiful stitching and decorations Carol. You always amaze me with the beautiful things you stitch and display. I also never know how you can pick a favorite! It is impossible for me to pick one favorite out of your gorgeous displays! Three is a great age for holiday celebrations. They understand what is going on and have lots of questions; especially for grandmas! I can't believe how old he is already! I hope you all have a wonderful holiday together.

Hello Carol,
oh, you've already made sooooo many beautiful decorations, my favorite color is blue too, but I also like the pink things.
Thank you for all the effort and the links you put into showing us everything!
Mr. B is already 3 1/2 years old, how time flies.
At Easter we have asparagus with salmon as a feast and a carrot cake with coffee. We have hung colorful eggs in the garden and in the house there is an Easter bouquet with all kinds of colorful pendants.

Enjoy the time before Easter, hugs, Jutta

These past two days FINALLY have been feeling like spring is coming around here - I love Easter and spring colours, bunnies and sheep and all the soft lovely critters! Sadly, I never seem to get around to stitching them, for some reason, but I'm not a very seasonal stitcher to begin with.
May favourites of yours are the Tiny Modernist Easter Wrath for the blues, and the Hummning Bead Haven for the pinks. Looking forward to seeing the greens and yellows, as well!
Our Easter will be a little different this year, as my brother in law and his wife are celebrating their wedding (they got married during the pandemic and are just now getting around to a little family celebration). Otherwise we like to have Easter brunch with my grandma, but we won't make it this year so will have to think of another way to spend time with her!

Happy Blessed Easter Carol: I am so in love with your Easter displays, so very beautiful.
Some of flowers have popped their heads out.
Thank-you for the links to the designs you finished, it was a treat to look back at the links. I have to agree that the Spring Bunny Love is also my favorite of yours.
Plans for Easter are to spend a quiet dinner with my late brothers wife, it is always fun to see her.
I think the holidays are more exciting for the grandparents then Mr. B, I know you truly enjoy having him and sharing the beautiful traditions you have created, you are so Blessed.

I like Easter Spring too. I have to ask though, did you turn the eggs to blue?! Were they another color? We don't do anything for Easter nowadays. Back when we were kids, our family and an uncle's always had a cookout and egg hunt ever Easter, every year. Now my parents are gone, my aunt also, and us kids are now busy with grandkids or have moved. Good memories! I know you'll all have a great time for Easter, Mr B will make it special! Happy Easter 🐣

I hope you and your family had a great Easter. Ours was very low key here as my daughter was headed back to college that morning. You have such a nice collection of Easter themed stitching. I like how you have them grouped by color. I just have a handful of Easter pieces and I tend to leave them out all spring. Thanks so much for your work to share all your pieces and link back to the original posts.
