Well, hello there! We made it to April! Are things greening up in your part of the world? This morning as I looked out from my upstairs window, I suddenly noticed the little green buds sprouting on trees and bushes throughout the woods beyond our pond. It's as if they seemingly appeared overnight! Such a welcome sight mixed in with hints of the blooming yellow forsythia. Now, if only the weather would cooperate and we'd get some warm, sunny Spring days. I shouldn't really whine, though, as I was lucky enough to spend the beginning of April in beautiful sun-drenched southern Florida.
I've done some decorating for Easter and it's amazing how a little pink can brighten up the house. Well, in this case, there is a lot of pink (for me, anyway; I'm a well-known lover of blue!). Over the years I've stitched many, many bunnies--just love them! I have so many now, that I tend to group them by color when I decorate. Today, I'll share with you my pink-hued Easter stitching which I included in a sweet vignette on the side table in my kitchen.
Lots of "hop-hops" as my grandson calls bunnies! |
Would you like a closer look? I'll try to identify each piece for you, too. You can click on the name of each finish to be taken to the corresponding blog post for more information.
In this photo is the Prairie Schooler bunny (from Prairie Year-Rounds book no. 52) finished as a pouch hanging on my sweet rabbit chair, Springtime Sampler from the January/February 1986 issue of Just Cross Stitch magazine, and "The Hearts Chase" by Patrick's Woods. |
From left to right are La D Da's "Briar Rabbit," Just Nan's "Bunny Hop" found in the HummingBead Heaven booklet, and a Prairie Schooler bunny finish from the PS mini-card set F. |
The little rabbit couple is a freebie from Snowflower Diaries called "Spring Bunny Love." In back is another Prairie Schooler Rabbit from Book No. 13 called "A Prairie Year" and the piece on black is a freebie from Kissy Cross. |
So, which one is your favorite? I have to admit, I'm partial to the little Prairie Schooler bunny stitched on black that I made into the tiny pouch. I've hung it from the chippy, white bunny chair that I found in Florida a few years ago for $5.00. That's definitely one of my best finds ever! I also love the dear bunny couple holding paws in the front.
I don't have any new stitching to share today as I really haven't stitched much this month. I do have a charming Easter card that arrived for me from my sweet friend, June in England, though. Just look at that little bunny with the butterfly perched on the tip of his nose--isn't it adorable? Thank you so much, June--I love him!
Such a sweet Easter card from dear June! |
Giveaway winner... I loved reading your answers to my last "Getting to Know You" question asking if you are a picky eater. I'm so relieved to know that I'm not the only adult who doesn't care for green vegetables! Thank you so much to all who responded to the question and entered the giveaway. I had about ten entries for the Little House Needleworks "Spot of Coffee" chart and the winning name pulled from the hat is...
Barbara From Kansas
Barbara From Kansas--you are the winner! Please email me with your address and I will get this in the mail to you as soon as possible! Congratulations! |
How about a new giveaway? Since Mother's Day is arriving here in the U.S. on May 8th, I thought this cute Lizzie Kate chart shown below would be timely. (This was also a gift from the generous Janet
in Texas who told me I could use it as a giveaway. Thank you again,
Janet!). This will be my second Mother's Day without my mom and it's still so very hard, especially since her birthday often fell around that day. Perhaps one of you might like to stitch this cutie up for your own Mother or a new mother or mother-to-be? If you would like to be included in the drawing for the chart, please...
1) Specifically mention that you would like to win the chart in your comment
2) Be a follower in my blog's sidebar (to the right)
3) Make sure to leave your email address in your comment if I don't already have it--(this is very important as I have no way of getting in touch with the winner if you don't)
4) Answer the "Getting to Know You" question below.
If you would like to win this chart, please follow the four guidelines above. |
Getting to Know You... For my new readers, I like to include this little section to help me get to know you and to help other stitchers get to know you, as well. I've had a couple people ask what my little grandson calls me so I thought I'd incorporate that into today's question which is: "What do your grandchildren call you?" Now, I realize not all of you are grandparents, so in that case, "What did you call your grandparents?"
My answer: As a new grandmother, I just assumed my grandson would call me "Gramma" or "Grandma" like I had called my own grandmothers, but he had other ideas! For a long time he didn't call me anything. In January, he began calling my husband, "Pompaw" which we find hilarious. We have no idea how he came up with it. And, it's stuck! I have to admit, I felt a bit sad that he hadn't yet picked a special name for me... But, just last month he started calling me "Nonna!" Okay... Nonna is a very common name for grandmother in Italian families, but I don't have an ounce of Italian blood (that I know of). My daughter-in-law is Mexican-American and she had always referred to me as "Abuelita" when talking to my grandson about me. Well, Mister B had his own ideas of what I should be called so "Nonna" it is! It's just the best feeling to be greeted with a big smile and hear "Nonna!" each night when he sees me appear on FaceTime! Now, it's your turn to answer the "Getting to Know You" question...
Florida visit... As I mentioned at the beginning of this post, my husband and I spent the first nine days of April in what I consider to be one of the prettiest parts of Florida: Naples. Have any of you been? My in-laws own a home there, but now that my father-in-law is gone and my mother-in-law is up North in a nursing home, we are renting it out to help pay for the taxes and insurance. So, we went down to check on it and do some improvements/housekeeping after the tenants left at the end of March. We actually worked most of the time sprucing up the yard and patio area, shopping for items, and doing a lot of organizing and a bit of painting. But, there were free moments that we spent strolling the beach and taking long walks in the evenings after the heat of the day had passed. Following are some of the more memorable photos that I took from our visit this year.
Looking down the beach to the Naples Pier |
A lone cormorant stands guard |
Can you spot the airplane in this beautiful Naples sky? |
A magical sky lit up the Naples City Dock |
Another peaceful evening in Naples |
I so enjoyed taking long walks in the evenings and admiring all of the colorful flowers and birds. The orchid is growing in a tree right outside of my in-laws' back door! |
Returning home on Saturday to 37° and rain was a shock to my system. I just couldn't warm up! But, hopefully, within a week or two we'll be having consistently warmer weather.
Are you having a big family dinner for Easter? Only our middle son and his girlfriend will be here on Sunday with us. My youngest son and his girlfriend are vacationing in Tuscany (just a bit envious here!!), and my oldest son and family will be coming the following week for a few days. So, things will be pretty quiet here. I hope each of you who celebrates Easter has a wonderful day with your family and friends.
Thank you so much for visiting me today and taking the time to comment and say "hello!" I hope to be back with some actual stitching finishes for you by the end of the month. Do take care, everyone. Bye for now...
Wishing you a wonderful Easter weekend! |
Happy Blessed easter Carol: What a fun post, you have a beautiful Easter display, the bunny chair is adorable as are all the decorations.
ReplyDeleteI love Florida, it is 33 degrees here as of 10:42 P.M., warming up starting Saturday.
Cute card from June.
Congratulations to Barbara from Kansas.
I do not have grandchildren, I am from the old school (I am in my early 70s) so grandmother and grandfather were what we called our grandparents, I think Pompaw and Nonna are adorable names for you as grandparents.
Beautiful photos of the Ocean.
No big dinner just Mike his sister and my sister-in-law from my side of the family.
Happy Blessed easter
Catherine
What a great display of Easter goodies , and the pinks look wonderful.
ReplyDeleteEnjoy your Easter ,we will be joined with my daughter at last .
I have sent all our family's Easter egg money and cards .
And there will be lots of phone calls over the holidays.
The weather here is very mild again and hoping to sit in the garden .
So happy you like your card .
Looks like you had a nice break even though it was a working one , I love the photos looks beautiful there.
Happy Easter.
Your bunnies are beautiful to look at, I can't even say which one I like best.
ReplyDeleteOh yeah, the little bunny on the card is really cute looking at the butterfly.
With us it was always very simply Grandma, but I'm curious if I'll have grandchildren of my own and what they'll call me.
Beautiful pictures of your vacation, thank you very much.
We will have my father-in-law visiting at Easter, which will certainly be nice. Let's hope for good weather.
I wish you and your family a happy Easter
Hugs Martina
Cute Easter decor!
ReplyDeleteI have to admit, I love the Bunny pouch.
We just called our Grandparents Gramma & Granpa.
Mister B has cute names for both of you!
Beautiful pics from Florida.
Marilyn
Hallo Carol,
Happy Easter and a big Hugs, Manuela
Il mio salotto è tutto rosa, quindi adoro i tuoi conigli e i colori che hai scelto, anche il mio preferito è quello Prairie. Felice Pasqua!!
ReplyDeleteWell, I'd rather be on the cold side then hot, after living in south Fl for over 40 years I am loving the seasons here in north Alabama. After a huge thunderstorm that dumped 2" of rain in an hour we are now at 51, but the flower beds are too wet for me to play in them today. My grandkids call me Gram, the great grands call me GG (for great gram). All of the Alabama clan will be together for Easter at my daughters house, the FL kids are doing their own thing. So, today I'll be doing some stitching at a friends house to catch up on her adventures after spending 3 months in AZ.
ReplyDeleteLove your bunny display, Carol! You already know I love that rabbit sampler and the PS Bunny by the pitcher. Glad you had a good and productive trip to Florida! I have never been to Naples (I don't think). I called my maternal grandmother "Gram", my paternal grandmother "grandma", and both grandfathers "grandpa". We have been on the warm side here with 87 yesterday and 84 on Tuesday. Too early! Have a good day!
ReplyDeleteYour Easter display is so sweet....mt faves are the two on black but the Patrick's Woods one caught my eye too!!!
ReplyDeleteI have a similar story about my first grand child...he would say the name for his parents and my hubby but never me. I planned to be called Gram and maybe that was not as easy to say as Pops (which is what he called my hubby). One day he started to call me Mimi..I thought that was so unique.... only to find every other Grandma I know these days is called Mimi!!!
Have a wonderful Easter!
Love your Easter Bunnies display Carol and your lovely Naples photos. What a beautiful location.
ReplyDeleteWe will see our elder son and the family on Easter Monday and be meeting their two puppies who they are collecting on the way home from their Easter break which will celebrate our eldest grandson's 18th birthday. We enjoyed a family get together last weekend,a surprise for the birthday boy :)
Both my grand mothers were grandma and one grandfather was grandpa, the other was grandad.
I hoped I would be the more informal nan,or nanna and eldest grandson has always called me nan.His younger brother has always called me nanny and our younger son's elder son calls me nanny too.His baby brother at almost 10 months has yet to reveal his preference.I am a happy nan/nanny.My husband is grandad to all the boys.
Happy Easter.
Lesley
I enjoy reading your blog post! A lovely start to my morning while drinking my coffee. I would love to stitch the Mother chart for my own beautiful mom! She just lost her sister, my aunt and could use a little pick me up. My grandkids call me Minnie. We were supposed to be Grammy & Grumpy but when our oldest was born she couldn't say either name and they came out Minnie & Punty! We've been known by that ever since by the next 5 that came along. Our oldest will be 16 next week! Best time of our lives! Since I am a subscriber to your blog, you already have my email address. Have a blessed day and happy stitching!
ReplyDeleteI love all your bunnies! The one that caught my eye first was the pouch hanging on the delightful chair! That chair is so sweet!
ReplyDeletePompaw and Nonna are great names. I love how the first grandchild gets to pick the names for the grandparents. We are Gramma and Gramps.
Your pictures of Naples are gorgeous. I've been to Florida, but not Naples. I love all the water and gorgeous skies!
No big plans for Easter this year. Other obligations keep us from gathering as a family. Just the two of us I'm thinking.
Happy Easter to you and your family!
Such sweet bunnies you have! Thank you for all your inspiration. I have 6 grand-daughters that call me grandma unless they want something then it's "grammy" which I am beginning to like better. I love Lizzie Kate patterns and this is one that I haven't seen. It is great. I would love to win this chart.
ReplyDeleteI hope you have a very Happy Easter!
Oh how magical your Easter decorations look, beautiful!!!!
ReplyDeleteI'm glad you had such a nice holiday, Happy Easter to you and your family, Jutta
Karen from Kansas:
ReplyDeleteHi Carol! I love all your pink Easter stitches! It is always so much fun to see other stitcher's collections and how many different pieces we choose. I think the only one I have the same as you is the La D Da's , although I have lots of bunnies. I do like your Just Nan's that I've seen in the past but never have been able to find those patterns.
I became a first time Grandma too about a month after Mr. B and enjoy hearing about all his milestones and the special ways you celebrate with him. I'm fortunate to FaceTime with my granddaughter (about 5 hours away). I grew up with my Grandmas and my children called each of their's, Grandma as well. When it came time for "my name" the "Grandmas" still are with us and was going to be too confusing. I didn't feel like a granny, nana, etc. So I looked at Dutch/German names, but they were not me - and I came up with my own name - Gemma, meaning jewel (which I hope they think of me in our family). Haven't heard it yet from my little Miss L.
Have a blessed Easter!
You have a beautiful Easter display Carol, the bunny🐇 chair is adorable.😍
ReplyDeleteI have one nine-year old grandson and he calls me Nana Shay. My birth name is Dawn but my husband started calling me Shay when we were first married and it just stuck.
I would love to win the Mother's chart by Lizzie Kate. My Momma passed away this year on February 28 and I would stitch it in memory of her.💕
Dawn Womble
Carol, your Easter vignette is lovely! We told our daughter when she was expecting our first Grand that we wanted to be called Gramps and Grammy. Over time Gramps evolved into Grampsy and so we're Grampsy and Grammy. My DIL wanted her mom to be called "Marmie", of course from Little Women, but she refused so I offered to take on that name for her kids, but she decided not to do that. So the other grandparents to our Grands are Grandma's, Grandpa, Papa, Uela (Abuela), and Pampaw. Hope you warm up soon!
ReplyDeleteCarol—
ReplyDeleteI love following you and your beautiful cross stitching. I am especially inspired by your many creative finishes.
My grandchildren call me Nina, and I love it.
I would very much like to win the Lizzie Kate Mother chart. My mother passed away January 12, 2022 at the age of 96. What a wonderful way to remember her with this hanging near her photo.
Thank you.
Chris Rittmann
Moms parents were Dziadzi and Baba, dad's were Nona and Nono.
ReplyDeleteMy favorite is the same as yours, the black bunny pouch.
Have a blessed Easter Carol!
Hi Carol, I just loved reading your post today, the bunnies are so cheerful. I have visited Naples once with my daughter and I really enjoyed it. It is beautiful, and so peaceful. Please put my name in the hat for the sweet LK design. As for grandma names...my Grandchildren are just luck to be able to pronounce Georgia:) And when they get to that age Grandma Georgia sticks. However my great grandson calls my daughter Mia. I really don't know the story behind that; but, my mothers name was Mildred, and to my children and her many nieces and nephews she was Grandma Millie, or Aunt Millie. But that changed my Grandson changed her name to Grandma Minnie. She loved it! And loved to tell the story. Thank you so much for sharing such an uplifting post today. Many Blessings to you and yours this Easter my friend...gmwireman@reagan.com
ReplyDeleteCarol, such a lovely post! I enjoy seeing all your stitching. Your Florida trip looks beautiful. Before my grandson arrived, my daughter called me Grammie and Hubby was called Gramps. When I started watching my grandson while my daughter worked, I decided he could call me whatever he wanted, lol. He doesn't say it in front of me often, but it sounds like he calls me Ramma or Amma. So cute to hear that little voice calling out to me!
ReplyDeleteWishing you and your family a very Happy & Blessed Easter!
Hello Carol! I just recently found your blog, and am so excited because I too am a librarian who loves stitching. It's been so fun to go through your archives.
ReplyDeleteI'd love to enter the drawing too. When I was tiny, I called one of my grandmas "magoo." I think that as my parents were teaching me the word "grandma" they repeated it over and over again, as we do, and I put it together like magoo. I can't wait to have grandkids someday to see what name I am blessed with.
Thanks for sharing here on your blog! ~Jenn
Wonderful, wonderful pink and the bunnies! My favorites are the Prairie Schooler Bunny and Briar Rabbit. :) June's card is darling. Pompaw! Never heard that one! Love it!! I want to be called something by a little one so badly, but.... sigh. I just called my grandparents, Grandma and Grandpa. :)
ReplyDeleteWe are going to my in-laws for Easter this Sunday. Orthodox Easter will be here just the four of us. Happy Blessed Easter Carol!
Hi Carol, I would love to win your chart! Thank you for the chance. I am called Nana by my little grandson. He call his grandpa Papa. We are the only grandparents that he has. We are going to have Easter dinner on Saturday because my son has to work on Sunday. He’s a truck driver. My grandson is 5 now and lives 5 minutes from me. I just love when they come over and he jumps out of the car calling Nana and giving me a big hug. Happy Easter. Hugs,
ReplyDeleteszil949@ yahoo.com
What a wonderful collection of bunnies. I think I love that PS one with the black. I love them all and the whole little table would make me stop and gawk. I am Mimi named by little Tucker and there is not better sound than that rolling off his lips. I guess the oldest gets to name you:) We will have a quieter Easter as I have to share my daughter this year. I would usually have put together a family dinner for all early, but I have been just too busy to go forward with that idea and honestly I think she has too, so next year will be better. I will shower the son with the love. Have a great one.
ReplyDeleteLovely display! I don't have much for Easter to display. Most of my projects hang on the walls. I intend to do more smalls this year. I would love to stitch the Lizzie Kate design. I lost my mother over 25 years ago. Miss her every day. I have 8 grandchildren 3 oldest are girls and the 5 youngest are boys. All call me grandma except for 2 and they call me Nana. Grandpa is "Papa" to all. Ranging in age from soon to be 20 year old college student to a 2 year old. They all have brought us great joy over the years. We are lucky that they live from about 65 miles away to just 2 miles. We see most, frequently (attend the school events of the 2 girls as they live just 3 miles away).
ReplyDeleteI have 5 siblings. We called our grandmother "Meme" and our grandfather "Dad"--we were very close to them (mothers family). Great memories.
Your monthly and holiday displays are always so beautiful. A trip to Florida is when it's cold at home is a good place to be. Sorry you returned to the cold.😪
ReplyDeleteHi Carol,
ReplyDeleteYour bunnies look so cute! I like the pouch the best. Every time I read one of your posts I go looking for the patterns you show. I don’t have any grandkids yet but am still hopeful. When I was growing up we called my grandmothers “grandma”. I didn’t have any grandfathers. They both died young. I’d like to win the Lizzie pattern to stitch for my mom for Mother’s Day. I’m a beginner so it looks easy enough for me. dputnam28@yahoo.com
Thank you for your inspiration. I enjoy reading and looking at your pictures. Glad you bought the bunny chair. I would have carried it on the plane too!
Donna
Wonderful Easter stitching, Carol! It's my favourite time of the year. I even love Easter more than Christmas! So glad you had a lovely time in Florida.
ReplyDeleteWishing you and your family a beautiful Easter!
What a beautiful corner, Barbara!
ReplyDeleteThey are all perfect details.
I would love to participate in the draw.
My email is alromasar@gmail.com and we call our grandmothers "abu".
Happy Easter of Resurrection.
Kisses from Spain
Christel

That is a very cute Bunny card you received and your Easter display looks great! I just love Bunnies too but I leave mine up all year round. I would love to be entered for the LK Mother's chart! My grandparents have been gone for a very long time unfortunately but I believe we always called out grandmas by Grandma and then their last name like Grandma Nichols. Now when Jacob was small he started calling me Gramm and he still does it to this day. One time when he was in preschool he spelled it with the two Ms and his teacher tried to tell him that is spelled wrong and that it should only have one M. He promptly told her that she doesn't know his Gramm so she doesn't know how it should be spelled and he has spelled it like that ever since. It is funny how young kids have their own opinions and there is no changing their minds but I wouldn't have it any other way!
ReplyDeleteHave a wonderful Easter Sunday!
Congratulations Barbara!
Hello Carol, Happy Easter to you and your family.Congratulations to Barbara.
ReplyDeleteYour Easter display is delightful. I agree with your two choices I also love the Bunny leaping past the white fence.
Our Grandchildren call me Mama, their Grandfather, Papa. What a lovely name your wee grandson has chosen for his Grandfather.
My dear Mother has been gone for 18 years, my children called her Mama also. The both Grandfather had long gone. I know how much my Mother loved me, U am and only child. To this day, I miss her still and she remains in a special place, in my heart, along with all my Grandparents.
Kay.
Pretty in Pink bunny-themed post! The dancing bunny couple with the pink rouched ribbon is my favorite. Happy & sweet! Regarding names - so cute with what the ‘lil ones come up with. Nana is a favorite in our family. An adorable, thoughtful bunny card you were gifted. I’ve been to both the east & west coast of Florida, but not as far south as Naples. I’m glad you found time to stroll and take in some of the scenery. Enjoy Easter with some of your family!
ReplyDeleteHi Carol!! I always enjoy your newsletters. I love all your Easter Cuties! My grandkids call me Grandma Tina!
ReplyDeleteI am interested in possibly winning the Mother Chart by Lizzie Kate! It is adorable!
The email address I see is not one I ever use so here is the one I can be reached at: cmr48@sbcglobal.net
Happy Easter!
Mothers Day is very sad for me,too. My mother passed away in 2014 on the day after Mother's day. My oldest grandson decided on MomMom and Edad for my husband and I'm from the Eastern Shore where mommom and pop pop are common grandparent names. I would love to win the pattern. Happy Easter to you 🐰🐇🐣🐤. Cheermom1954@aol.com
ReplyDeleteI love your hoppy collection of bunny pillows! I have started the JN design myself.
ReplyDeleteNo grandchildren here but we called my grandparents Nana and Grandad. My Mum then decided she wanted her and Dad to be Grandma and Grandpa. But one day my son called for his Grandad shouting "Grampsie, Grampsie" which was so cute it stuck.
Better than my Uncle, who started off as Grampy, which became Grumpy and now Dumpy!
I did smile at one thing - you say you have no Italian connection but you've just been to Naples!! I guess they don't speak Italian in the Florida version? It looks very beautiful anyway.
ReplyDeleteWelcome back from Florida! I'm glad you had a fun time away. Hopefully, temperatures will be warming up at home soon as well!
ReplyDeleteYour setup of bunnies is lovely. I think my favourite is the little Just Nan one.
I always called my grandparents (the ones I grew up with) Oma and Opa, which is pretty much the standard terms in Germany. My other grandparents, I was still calling Oma and Opa when I was talking to them, but when I was talking about them, it was [town where they lived)-Oma/Opa!
Dear Carol,I enjoy reading all these news sites. They always make me think.
ReplyDeleteI didn't have grandmothers anymore.Just one grandfather who lived with us.
I have many grandchildren(even little great grandchildren). They call us "grandma" and "grandpa".If they said it any other way I would love it,because I love them so very much.Since it is 2.15 AM here,I have to write yesterday. After a very long time(Covid)my son came with his wife and daughter Anezka.I have not been so happy for a long time.
My mom lived to be 95.She died exactly three years ago.(My dad died young).Mom didn't feel like a grandmother until she died.
I don't have any of my childhood stuff.I left home at 19 and my mom threw everything away when I lived elsewhere.
Carol, have a fantastic last day of Easter time ☺
Carol, Your Easter/Spring display is just amazing!!! All the stitches are so pretty, I tried to pick a favorite and can't!! I just be lil'B loves seeing all your Easter cheer!
ReplyDeleteGlad you experienced sunshine in Florida, we have a dearth of sunshine this Spring. Woke up to everything covered in ice this am!!
It was Grandma and Grandpa for us and I was so fortunate to have my wonderful Grandparent close by. I miss them terribly still!
I hope Spring comes to Pa soon!!
Carol , your Spring/ Easter vignette is gorgeous. It is too hard for me to choose a favorite for they all are amazing. I love the names that Little B has given ya'll. How sweet . Mine call me Mae Mae. Beautiful Florida photos. The sky is so pretty. Happy stitching, my friend.
ReplyDeleteHi Carol - I’m so sorry I haven’t posted a comment to your wonderful blog posts recently. It’s been kind of crazy around here for a bit. I read your postings and I think I got interrupted and just didn’t get back to say “Hi!” to you. I do hope you had a very happy Easter celebration and I’m sure you are looking forward to another visit from Mister B and his mom & dad. He is so cute watching the license plate get attached to the car. Actually, I could stop with “he’s so cute!”
ReplyDeleteYour Easter cross stitches are just wonderful! It’s much too difficult to choose a favorite - I love bunnies, so I think they are all my favorite! We have a few bunnies that live somewhere in our backyard, so we see them frequently when they come out to munch on whatever they can find in our grass - too much fun to watch!
Naples looks like it is very pretty! I’ve been to Florida a few times (although it’s been quite a while since I was there last) but never toNaples - maybe someday. Thanks for sharing your great pictures of the water around there - even though you had lots of work to do, I can imagine it was a nice change for a bit.
What are you stitching now? It’s always so much fun to see your beautiful work. Happy Spring to you and your family.
Barb R. 💐 🌸 🌺
Beautiful Easter display Carol, you are right, the colour pink brightens a room, difficult to choose a favourite as all stitching and decorations are lovely, especially the rabbit chair - what a find. Lovely photos of Naples. I used to call my grandmother `gran´ and my grandchildren call me `nana´.
ReplyDeleteAnother lovely Carol post. I love seeing all the trees and flowers pop to life. Our campground went from no leaves to beautiful flowers in just a week. Love your Easter decorations. Beautiful indeed. Please don't include me in the drawing. I had added names to my grandparents. Grandma Rosalie, Grandma Faust, my one different one was I called my one Grandmother by her husband's name. I didn't know I even did it until I heard someone call her something else and I was so confused haha. My son calls my dad Pa and my mom Grandma. Then my step mom is Grandma Bevie. Love how close I was to all my grandparents and Jeremiah is very close now too. Beautiful photos in Florida. We had a small chosen family gathering at our campground and I LOVED it. Perfect way to spend the day. Have a wonderful rest of April and a fantastic May ahead.
ReplyDeleteLove your pink bunny display Carol - I agree that the one in the pouch is just too cute! I arrived in Florida just a few days after you left to help a friend through a medical procedure - it was a nice break from the cool Midwest spring for sure. Now we’ve jumped right ahead to summer and it is more like July! I only grew up with one living Grandparent and she was Grandma. My nephew (the oldest of my parent’s grands) decided that my dad would be Pop. We have no idea where he came up with it, but it stuck and now all 5 call him that. Hope you had a nice Easter!
ReplyDeleteDid I already comment on this post? I can't see if I did! Well, it's a beautiful post as usual and i just LOVE all your bunny stitches. They are all so cute.
ReplyDeleteI'm not a grandma and won't be for many years I think, but I called both my grandparents just "Grandma and Grandpa." However that was confusing. My own kids call my parents Grandma and Grandpa, but my husband's parents Grandmoo and Grandpup to differentiate them. And their Grandmoo's mom (who is not actually related to us but that's a long story) is Nonni (but she's not Italian...).
