This is my year to begin, but I find myself at a loss as to how to go about choosing the "trimmings" that make the ornaments so special. Do you have a post you would recommend on how to make these decisions. You make it seem effortless! I wish to thank you so very much for all that you have shared and inspired. I can't wait to see the sampler you are working on. And as always your stitched ornaments are fabulous! I especially love the ones stitched on black - it really does an excellent job of highlighting the stitching. I had to laugh reading about your bowling outing! Bowling does definitely make you very aware of certain muscles (at least in my case ) : ) How exciting to introduce your future daughter-in-law to stitching - she did a lovely job on her first piece!Pennyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06807665680552691472noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2293399242092873784.post-37765050806365024952017-01-16T02:28:53.643-05:002017-01-16T02:28:53.643-05:00Such a lot of wonderful stitching, Carol. There is something special about ornaments stitched on black fabric. And very nice to compare how different they look on black or on a bright fabric. I think I have to try it, too. When I was at Zweigart's the last time I bought a piece of black Belfast an I think it's time now. These Prairie Schooler Santas look so good on black.
How wonderful that you have a new stitcher in the family. Her first cross stitch is so sweet.
We have had lots of snow during the last week and it's the first time for years that the nearby ski lift is already running in January. Oh, and I also started stitching in my 20's. I have a daughter- in- law who expressed interest in cross stitching but soon after that announced she was pregnant and has had pretty bad morning sickness so she's changed her mind, but maybe in the future she will be interested again. I have a one year old granddaughter and another on the way, so I really hope they will be interested in learning to sew and cross stitch someday!Pattihttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06000067542871279557noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2293399242092873784.post-29123979709719257912017-01-15T03:07:32.593-05:002017-01-15T03:07:32.593-05:00What beautiful ornaments you have sent to your fri...What beautiful ornaments you have sent to your friends.Love the stitching on black. I also find that I am liking the PS santas more the more I see them made up as ornaments. Maybe I will have to find one to stitch this year. I am thrilled to hear about your future DIL trying stitching and enjoying it. I imagine my mom felt the same way when I started quilting in my 20s (I've stitched since about 5th grade!). The weather here in Central Indiana is crazy too - temperature swings from 60 to 12 in the last 10 days and freezing rain today - it's a good day to stay inside and do some stitching and sewing!
